Sage Canyon Autism Foundation Effective Date: January 1, 2026
Sage Canyon Autism Foundation (“Sage Canyon,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in the State of Utah (EIN: 41-2890848). Autism Outdoors Utah is a program offered by Sage Canyon Autism Foundation. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information gathered through sagecanyonautism.org, utahautismoutdoors.com, and any related foundation pages or registration forms (collectively, the “Sites”). By using our Sites or providing information to us, you agree to the practices described below.
Information We Collect
We collect information you voluntarily provide when you subscribe to our newsletter, register for an event, donate, apply for a scholarship, volunteer, or otherwise communicate with us. This typically includes name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and any additional details you choose to share (such as family details relevant to programming, dietary needs, or accessibility accommodations).
When you make a donation or register for an event through Zeffy, our donation and event platform, Zeffy collects the information necessary to process your transaction. Sage Canyon does not directly collect or store payment card numbers; payment processing is handled by Zeffy and its payment partners under their own privacy and security practices. Our Sites use standard WordPress cookies to support core website functionality (such as remembering form entries and maintaining session state). We do not currently run third-party analytics or advertising trackers. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect how some features of the Sites work.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the foundation’s programs, including: confirming and managing event registrations; sending you newsletters, event invitations, fundraising appeals, and program updates; processing donations and providing tax receipts that comply with IRS requirements; reviewing scholarship and program applications; coordinating volunteers; responding to your questions; and meeting our legal, accounting, and reporting obligations as a 501(c)(3) organization.
If you subscribe to our email list or otherwise provide your email to us, you should expect to receive communications related to foundation events, fundraising campaigns, and program offerings. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
With service providers who help us operate. These providers are authorized to use your information only as needed to perform services for us.
With program partners only as necessary to coordinate a specific event or activity you have registered for, and only with the minimum information required.
When required by law, court order, or governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sage Canyon Autism Foundation, Autism Outdoors Utah, our participants, or others.
In connection with a merger, dissolution, or transfer of foundation assets, in which case any successor organization will be bound by the commitments in this policy.
We will never share, sell, or publicly disclose donor information (including donor names, amounts, or contact details) without your consent, except as required by law (for example, certain information that must appear on IRS Form 990).
Children’s Privacy
Our programs serve autistic individuals of all ages, including minors, but we only accept registrations and information from parents, guardians, or other authorized adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently received information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided information to us may contact us at the address below.
Photos and Stories from Events
We sometimes photograph foundation events for use in newsletters, social media, grant reports, and other communications. We obtain consent through event registration forms and honor any request to opt out of being photographed or to have a specific image removed. Storytelling that features participants or families is done only with informed consent and in a manner that respects the dignity and privacy of the individuals involved.
Your Choices and Rights
You may, at any time: unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any message; request that we update or correct your contact information; request that we delete your information from our active records (subject to records we must retain for tax, legal, or grant-reporting purposes); or ask us what information we hold about you.

Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect, and we rely on reputable third-party platforms that maintain their own security programs. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to Other Sites
Our Sites may link to external sites operated by partners, sponsors, or other organizations. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; we encourage you to review their policies separately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on our Sites or via email to our subscribers.
